London, Jun 21 (V7N) – A case has been filed in the United Kingdom against four leaders and activists of the National Citizens Party (NCP), including the party's Chief Organizer (South) and former MP for Comilla-4, Hasnat Abdullah.

According to the NCP UK Alliance, the case was filed at Cambridge Police Station in London on Friday (June 19). The other accused are NCP leaders Ehtesham Haque, Zakir Chowdhury and Shahin Alam. Several unidentified individuals have also been named in the complaint.

In a press release issued on Saturday (June 20), the NCP UK Alliance claimed that supporters of the Awami League in the United Kingdom had filed the case alleging that the accused assaulted Awami League leaders and activists. The organization described the allegations as politically motivated and said they were intended to harass Hasnat Abdullah and his associates.

The statement further claimed that Zakir Chowdhury had been taken to a police station for questioning following the filing of the complaint.

According to the NCP UK Alliance, a specialized UK agency has also launched an investigation into the alleged activities of the banned Awami League, including its potential impact on public safety and law and order in the United Kingdom.

The organization stated that Hasnat Abdullah expressed appreciation to UK law enforcement authorities for what he described as their professional handling of the matter. It also alleged that previous attempts to disrupt his speech at the Oxford Union, meetings with members of the Bangladeshi diaspora across the UK, and other political engagements had been unsuccessful.

As of the filing of this report, there has been no official statement from UK police regarding the allegations, nor has a response from representatives of the Awami League been made available.
