Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has lashed out at leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), stating that those who fail to acknowledge Bangladesh's development should feel ashamed in light of recent comments made by the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Quader made these remarks on Sunday morning while paying tribute to Lt. Sheikh Jamal, the son of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on his 71st birthday at the Banani cemetery.

Asserting Awami League's independence in the 12th national election, Quader dismissed claims of foreign influence, contrasting it with the participation of the Jatiya Party under different circumstances.

Quader traced Bangladesh's political trajectory from the tragic events of August 15, 1975, highlighting the role of the Zia-Mushtak gang in supporting the perpetrators of the massacre. He credited Sheikh Hasina's return to the country with ending the era of political violence and conspiracies, ushering in a period of development and progress.

Directing criticism at the BNP, Quader accused its leaders of being blind to the country's progress, likening their perspective to that of individuals wearing black glasses. He urged the BNP to feel ashamed in the wake of Pakistan Prime Minister's recent statement about Bangladesh.
