"On the question of the speaker's responsibility, GM Quader that even though she was a speaker with party loyalty, she tried to play her role impartially."
Opposition leader GM Quader expressed his worries on Tuesday regarding the ability of the 12th Parliament to carry out its responsibilities flawlessly.
According to him, the ruling party holds 75% of the seats in this parliament, with independent MPs, who are primarily associated with the Awami League, making up the remaining 21%.
It will be difficult to find the entire country represented in this parliament because the opposition only holds 3–4% of the seats. He felt that this parliament would not be able to carry out its duty perfectly.
During a conversation to express gratitude to the recently elected House Speaker, Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, the leader of the opposition made these remarks.
GM Quader described his experience as a Member of Parliament since 1996 and expressed hope that the speaker would play a neutral role in conducting the businesses of the House.
On the question of the speaker's responsibility, he said that even though she was a speaker with party loyalty, she tried to play her role impartially.
"I anticipate that you will continue to be impartial," he stated.
GM Quader stated that they hoped to see an equal number of seats on both sides, referring to the Treasury bench on the right side of the speaker and the opposition party's seats on the left.
He stated that the opposition party is the other and that one is the government party.
The opposition leader stated that the national parliament serves as a forum for discussions between all political parties, citing the outcomes of the national election held on January 7.
GM Quader stated that it is not just red or green, referring to the national flag's red and green colors. This parliament is entirely red if the ruling party is referred to be red.
"I anticipate that you will continue to be impartial," he said.

"There is very little green. It will be challenging to locate the national image in this parliament. It is concerning how much the current parliament will be able to represent the country, he stated.
He said that the parliament will be deemed effective if there is a reduction in the difference between the two sides' operations.
"This fear is justified," stated GM Quader, the head of the Jatiya Party, which garnered a mere 11 seats in the current election.
He stated that the government's opponents may and will take a more aggressive stand.
He made some recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the parliament.
He hoped that the speaker would allow the House opposition members to voice their opinions.
"We'll keep working to lessen the disparity in the parliament. Thus, we anticipate the speaker's cooperation," he added.
