NOV 09, V7N- The Washington Commanders have ruled out newly acquired cornerback Marshon Lattimore for their upcoming home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a hamstring injury. Lattimore, who was traded from the New Orleans Saints earlier this week for three draft picks, did not practice all week and has been dealing with a strained hamstring in recent weeks. Commanders head coach Dan Quinn emphasized that the team is working to integrate him quickly, but Lattimore will not be available for Sunday’s game.
In addition to Lattimore, Washington running back Brian Robinson Jr. has also been ruled out for the game due to a hamstring injury. Robinson, who leads the team with 461 rushing yards and six touchdowns, missed the previous win against the New York Giants because of the same injury.
Washington is also facing kicker issues, as Austin Seibert, dealing with a right hip issue, is questionable for the game. The team worked out kickers this week and signed veteran Zane Gonzalez to the practice squad as insurance.
Lattimore, 28, had started all seven games for the Saints this season before missing their most recent game. He is a four-time Pro Bowl selection and has 30 tackles in 2023. Seibert, 27, is in his first season with Washington and has been effective on field goals and extra points, but his status remains in question due to his hip injury. Gonzalez, 29, has not played in an NFL game since 2021 but has experience with several teams over his career.
