In order to guarantee the government collects taxes, prevent theft, and stop the unlawful usage of secondhand mobile phones, steps have been taken to halt unregistered mobile sets. That's going to happen shortly.
The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) released a notification on Sunday, January 21, verifying the information.
Md. Sohail Rana, Director of the BTRC's Spectrum Department Every mobile phone must be registered by registering its SIM card through the BTRC and tagging it with a national identity card, per the signed notification. BTRC NEIR is fully operational to guarantee government service delivery and reception, to prevent theft and unauthorized use of old mobile phones, to generate income by prohibiting the use of unlawfully produced and imported mobile phones, and to ensure revenue creation.
He further stated that unauthorised mobile phones will be quickly disconnected from the network. Because of this, the notification also asks everyone to confirm the legitimacy before purchasing the mobile device.
Concurrently, KYD<space> 15-digit IMEI number (e.g., KYD 123456789012345) can be entered into 16002 from the message option to confirm the legitimacy of the mobile phone before buying it.
