DHAKA, July 08 (V7N) – The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has reported one new death and eight fresh COVID-19 infections across Bangladesh in the 24-hour period spanning from 8 AM Monday to 8 AM Tuesday.

This latest fatality brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Bangladesh to 25 since January 1, 2025. The cumulative death toll since the onset of the pandemic in March 2020 now stands at 29,524.

During the reporting period, a total of 234 samples were tested, resulting in a positivity rate of 3.42 percent.

Bangladesh first detected a coronavirus case on March 8, 2020, and recorded its first COVID-19 related death ten days later, on March 18, 2020. The country continues to monitor the situation and implement public health measures to manage the spread of the virus.
