Islamabad, Feb 18 (V7N) — Fourteen former cricket captains from across the world have jointly written to the Government of Pakistan, calling for humane and just treatment of former Prime Minister and World Cup-winning captain Imran Khan.

The signatories include former India captains Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar, West Indies legend Clive Lloyd, and several former Australian leaders — Allan Border, Greg Chappell, Ian Chappell, and Steve Waugh. England’s former captains Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain are also among those who endorsed the appeal.

The letter, drafted by Greg Chappell, urges authorities to ensure “fair and humane treatment” for Khan. It highlights concerns over reports of his deteriorating health during his time in custody, particularly issues related to his eyesight.

The appeal reflects growing international attention to Khan’s condition, with the former cricket icons emphasizing respect for legal rights and humanitarian considerations.
