In response to escalating tensions with Iran, the Israeli military has taken precautionary measures by canceling leaves for all members of its combat units. The move comes amid fears of potential retaliation from Iran following an Israeli missile strike in Damascus that resulted in the death of several Iranian military advisers.

The decision to cancel leaves was confirmed by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in a statement released on Thursday. Additionally, Israel has bolstered its air defense systems and called up reserve troops in anticipation of a possible response from Iran.

Last Monday's missile strike on the Iranian consulate building in Damascus further heightened tensions between Israel and Iran. The attack, which targeted Iranian military advisers, has prompted threats of retaliation from Tehran.

Former Israeli intelligence chief Amos Yadlin has warned that Iran may choose to launch a counterattack on Friday, coinciding with the end of Ramadan and Jerusalem Day in Iran. However, Yadlin urged Israeli citizens to remain calm and refrain from panicking in the event of an attack.

Meanwhile, reports have emerged of disruptions to GPS services in Israel, with residents in central Israel experiencing widespread disruptions to navigation apps such as Google Maps and Waze. This has added to the complexity of the situation for Israel, as it prepares for potential hostilities with Iran.

In response to the missile strike, Iran's Foreign Ministry has condemned Israel's actions and asserted Iran's right to retaliate in accordance with international law. Tehran has vowed to hold Israel accountable for its actions and has warned of the consequences of such provocative attacks.

Analysts warn that the situation in the Middle East remains highly volatile, with the possibility of further escalations between Israel and Iran in the coming days.
