Washington, May 26 (V7N)- US President Donald Trump has called on several Muslim-majority countries to join the Abraham Accords as part of broader diplomatic efforts linked to ongoing negotiations with Iran.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social on Monday (May 25), Trump said he had spoken with leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt and Jordan, urging them to join the US-led normalization framework with Israel.

He stated that if a deal with Iran is finalized, it would be an “honor” for the United States and could open the door for wider regional participation in what he described as a “global alliance.”

The Abraham Accords are a series of agreements aimed at normalizing relations between Israel and several Arab and Muslim-majority countries, initially brokered by the United States in 2020.

Trump also noted that some countries may have reservations about joining, but insisted that most should be prepared to participate.

Pakistan has reportedly rejected the proposal, while other countries have not yet issued formal responses. A Pakistani source said that normalization with Israel and the Iran negotiations are separate issues and should not be linked.

The Abraham Accords were first signed in 2020 by the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, followed later by Morocco and Sudan, marking the first wave of Arab-Israeli normalization in decades.
