In a show of solidarity with Palestinians and condemnation of Israeli actions in Gaza, the Iraqi-based armed organization, The Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IRI), has launched a series of attacks on Israeli targets. The organization confirmed these attacks in statements released on Tuesday.

According to reports, the IRI targeted five locations within the Israeli-occupied territories. The attacks were reportedly carried out against Israeli sites, including the Ashkelon oil port and the Hatzerim airbase in the Beersheba area. The organization stated that these actions were in response to Israel's ongoing military campaign in Gaza and its atrocities against the Palestinian people.

The IRI emphasized its commitment to resisting the Israeli occupation and supporting the people of Gaza in the face of the brutal violence perpetrated by Israeli forces. It vowed to continue its attacks on Israeli targets as long as the Gaza war persists.

Earlier reports indicated that the IRI conducted a drone attack on an oil refinery in Haifa, Israel, last Saturday. Additionally, on Wednesday, Iraqi resistance forces targeted a significant Israeli airbase and the occupied city of Ashdod.

While the IRI claims to have inflicted heavy losses on Israeli forces in these attacks, Tel Aviv has yet to comment on the extent of the damage or casualties.

The recent escalation in hostilities follows the October 7th military operation launched by Hamas in Gaza, triggering Israeli airstrikes and ground assaults. The ensuing violence resulted in the deaths of over 33,000 Palestinians, a majority of whom were women and children, with tens of thousands more injured.

In response to the ongoing bloodshed, various political organizations across the Middle East, including those in Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, and Yemen, have declared war against Israel and are actively engaging in attacks against Israeli targets. These organizations have vowed to continue their assaults until the Israeli aggression against Gaza comes to an end.
