A devastating school bus accident in the Indian state of Haryana has left six children dead and 15 others injured, shaking the local community.

The incident occurred on Thursday morning near Narnal of Unhani village in Mahendragarh district. Reports from Hindustan Times indicate that the bus, owned by GL Public School, was carrying around 30 students at the time of the accident.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver may have been intoxicated while operating the vehicle, as stated by the district education officer. It is believed that while attempting to overtake another bus, the driver lost control, causing the school bus to collide with a roadside tree before overturning.
