Iran's President Ibrahim Raisi echoed similar sentiments, stating that Iran's armed forces had effectively delivered a message to their "Zionist enemy" through Operation True Promise. President Raisi emphasized that any Israeli retaliation would be met with a harsher response from Tehran.

The recent escalation follows Iran's massive missile and drone attack on Israeli territory, targeting various airfields, military installations, and power plants. This attack came in response to Israel's airstrike on the Iranian consulate building in Damascus, Syria, which resulted in the deaths of 13 individuals, including high-ranking military officers. Iran had previously vowed to retaliate against Israel for the consulate attack, with the IRGC carrying out the retaliatory strike approximately 10 days later.
