A man has been apprehended in Paris after allegedly threatening to detonate explosives at the Iranian consulate in the French capital. Despite initial concerns, French authorities did not discover any explosives upon searching the individual.

According to a report by Reuters, the incident unfolded around 11 a.m. local time on Friday. Witnesses reported seeing the man entering the Iranian consulate, appearing to carry a grenade and wearing an explosive vest. Following these alarming observations, law enforcement swiftly cordoned off the area and subsequently arrested the individual as he exited the consulate. However, the identity of the suspect has not been disclosed by Paris authorities.

While British television channel BFM indicated that the man possessed a fake grenade, additional information suggests that he may have been linked to a previous attempted arson attack at the Iranian consulate in September last year.

Witnesses recounted the arrested man's actions, noting that he desecrated an Iranian flag within the consulate and expressed a desire for retribution for his brother's alleged murder.

Amidst these developments, tensions between Iran and Israel remain palpable. Earlier on the same day, explosions were reported in the Iranian city of Isfahan. While Western sources, including the United States, implicated Israel in these attacks, Iran denied any missile strike on Isfahan. Israel has refrained from directly claiming responsibility for the incident.

Following the security scare in Paris, the US Embassy advised American citizens to steer clear of the area, a caution echoed by French police. As investigations into the matter continue, authorities remain vigilant amidst heightened tensions in the region.
