In the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, one name has emerged as a significant challenge for the Israeli military: the Nukhba Force. This elite branch of the Palestinian Liberation Organization - Hamas, known for its highly trained guerrilla fighters, is believed to be behind the recent attack on Israeli soil on October 7th.

The Arabic word "nukhba" translates to "noble," and the Nukhba Force lives up to its name as an elite unit handpicked by top leaders of Hamas. Led by Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, this force is shrouded in mystery and fear among Israeli military officials.

The Nukhba Force is a subset of Hamas' military wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigade. Its members undergo rigorous training and are selected based on loyalty and ideological commitment to the Hamas leadership. With a reported strength of 5,000 trained fighters, including commandos skilled in various combat techniques, the Nukhba Force poses a significant threat to Israel.

What sets the Nukhba Commandos apart is their expertise in surprise attacks and tunnel warfare. They are adept at infiltrating enemy territory through underground tunnels and are equipped with advanced weaponry, including missiles, sniper rifles, and anti-tank missiles. Additionally, members undergo training in scuba diving, demonstrating the force's versatility and readiness for various combat scenarios.

Established in 2013 during the Gaza-Israel war, the Nukhba Force has become synonymous with Hamas' military prowess. Led by Mohammad Deif, head of the Al-Qassam Brigade, the force is responsible for protecting top Hamas leaders and executing strategic attacks inside Israel.

Despite facing harsh living conditions, including extended periods in tunnels without food or water, Nukhba members remain dedicated to their cause. They receive higher pay than other Hamas fighters, with salaries ranging from $400 to $500 per month. However, the sacrifices are immense, with members often enduring life-threatening conditions to carry out their missions.

As tensions escalate between Israel and Hamas, the Nukhba Force remains a formidable adversary, representing Hamas' unwavering commitment to resistance against Israeli occupation. As both sides brace for potential escalation, the Nukhba Force stands ready to defend Palestinian interests, further heightening tensions in the region.
