A devastating road accident in Pakistan's Punjab province resulted in the deaths of at least 11 people and left 15 others injured. The incident occurred on Saturday evening (May 26) in Kot Addu district, where a head-on collision between a truck and a passenger van led to the tragic loss of lives. 

According to reports from The Dawn, the collision occurred on the MM road as the passenger van was traveling from Multan to Bhakkar. The victims, all members of the same family, included 5 men, 3 women, 2 children, and a teenage girl. The accident resulted in multiple fatalities on the spot.

Local residents immediately rushed to the scene to aid the victims, transporting the injured to nearby hospitals. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collision. 

Punjab's Home Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi expressed his profound sorrow over the tragic event and extended his condolences to the grieving family members. The authorities are working to provide support to the affected family and ensure that a thorough investigation is conducted to prevent such incidents in the future. 

This heartbreaking accident highlights the ongoing issue of road safety in Pakistan, prompting calls for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations and better infrastructure to prevent further tragedies.
