Tehran, August 21— The Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IRI), an anti-terrorist resistance group, has reportedly launched a new wave of drone attacks on key military installations in the Israeli seaport of Eilat. According to the Iran-based Meher News Agency, which cited a statement from IRI on Wednesday, the group claims to have inflicted significant damage on Israel's military infrastructure.

The IRI stated that the attack was a retaliatory measure against the ongoing Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip, which have resulted in a high number of casualties among Palestinians. The group emphasized that these strikes are part of a broader campaign to intensify pressure on Israel and support the Palestinian cause.

While the IRI's statement claims substantial losses for Israel, Tel Aviv has yet to release any official information regarding casualties or damage resulting from the attack. The group warned that further actions would follow if Israel continues its operations in Gaza.

The recent attacks have reportedly disrupted operations at the Eilat seaport, posing a significant economic threat to Israel's port trade. The IRI, along with other Middle Eastern resistance groups, has vowed to continue their offensive until the cessation of Israeli actions in Gaza.

This escalation follows a previous major conflict that began on October 7 of last year, when Hamas launched a significant military operation against Israel. The ongoing conflict has since drawn in various regional actors, including resistance groups from Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, and Yemen, who have declared war on Israel in response to its military actions in Gaza.
