Damascus, Sep 10 (V7N) – At least 18 people were killed, and 36 others injured, including six in critical condition, following an Israeli airstrike on Syria's Hama province on Monday. The attack, part of Israel's ongoing military operations in the region, has drawn sharp condemnation from the Syrian government.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly denounced the airstrike, accusing Israel of systematic aggression. The Ministry stated that Israel's actions against Syria and other nations in the region, including the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, are pushing the West Asia region toward a "terrible and unknown end." The Ministry further described the Israeli government as "bloodthirsty" and "fascist," warning that its continued violence threatens to escalate the regional conflict.

The Syrian government also criticised the support Israel receives from Western nations, particularly the United States, arguing that these countries are complicit in the "ongoing brutality" against regional nations, including the Gaza Strip. The Foreign Ministry's statement added that Syria reserves the right to defend its sovereignty in response to such Israeli aggression.এ

The airstrike in Hama is the latest in a series of Israeli attacks across Syria, as tensions in the region continue to intensify amidst Israel’s ongoing military actions in Gaza and the West Bank.
