New York, Sep 24 (V7N) –In a pivotal meeting held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, US President Joe Biden extended his "full support" to the government of Bangladesh. The meeting took place between President Biden and Bangladesh's Chief Adviser, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, as both leaders discussed a range of issues crucial to the development and stability of Bangladesh.

During the meeting, Dr. Yunus highlighted the brave resistance of Bangladeshi students against the oppressive measures of the previous regime. He emphasized how the students played a vital role not only in resisting tyranny but also in the ongoing efforts to rebuild the nation. Dr. Yunus made it clear that his government is determined to ensure the success of this reconstruction, stressing that the involvement of the youth was a cornerstone of this movement.

President Biden, deeply moved by the sacrifices made by the students, expressed his strong belief in standing by such a cause. He said, "If the students of Bangladesh are willing to sacrifice so much for their country, it is our duty to offer them full support." Biden assured that the United States would be a committed partner in assisting Bangladesh through its institution-building and development initiatives.

As a token of appreciation and to honor the role of young people in the revolution, Chief Adviser Yunus presented President Biden with a special art book titled The Art of Triumph. The book showcases murals painted by Bangladeshi students during and after the July Revolution, symbolizing their hopes, struggles, and aspirations for a better future.

This meeting is viewed as a key moment in strengthening Bangladesh-US relations, further bolstering Bangladesh’s efforts to move towards institutional reform and national rebuilding under the leadership of Professor Yunus.
