New York, Sep 26 (V7N) – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Chief Adviser of Bangladesh, Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, at the United Nations headquarters in New York. The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, centered on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing key issues of mutual interest.

During the discussions, both leaders emphasized the importance of further enhancing economic and trade ties between the two nations. Wang Yi lauded Professor Yunus's leadership in promoting innovative social and economic programs aimed at poverty alleviation. He reiterated China's commitment to supporting Bangladesh's sustainable development goals through increased investments and cooperation in infrastructure development, energy, and technology sectors.

Professor Yunus, while appreciating China's support, highlighted Bangladesh's focus on advancing economic growth through global partnerships. He expressed hope for stronger collaboration in sectors such as renewable energy, digital infrastructure, and trade, to accelerate Bangladesh's journey toward becoming a middle-income nation.

Both sides also addressed key global issues, including climate change, regional security, and global peace. They underscored the importance of multilateral efforts to tackle these challenges and affirmed their commitment to working together in international forums like the United Nations.
