Rajshahi, July 02 (V7N)- The development organization Ladies Organization for Social Welfare (LOFS) has been working for the development of women and children in this district for a long time. As a human rights organization, LOFS regularly publishes the situation of women and children's abuse based on the news of widely circulated daily newspapers in Rajshahi. LOFS believes that the situation of women and children's abuse is escalating in various measures in this region.
 
Most incidents of women and children's abuse occur due to dowry and domestic reasons. In many cases, certain foreign TV serials encourage these incidents. Moreover, family disputes and love affairs lead to incidents like murder-suicides and inhumane abuse. These issues are not pleasant for anyone. On Sunday, an announcement from a news release agency informed the development organization Ladies Organization for Social Welfare (LOFS) about this information.
 
The incidents in June include: allegations of assault against Mridul Haque (14) of Bausa Fotehpur village in Bagha Upazila, suicide by a minor named Tanoor (13) for alleged sexual assault in his Upazila, a school teacher in Nagarita being a victim of abuse by a sixth-grade student, rape allegations against a student named Ruma Khatun in Putia Upazila, suicide by a student named Jannatul Arabi (18) in Paba Upazila, gang rape of a woman in Nagarita, marital abuse of a bride in Damkura of Char Ghat, suicide of a woman named Surya Bewa (80) in Bagha, sexual harassment allegations against a retired military member by a neighbor woman in Nagarita, dissemination of nude photos of a wife by her husband, domestic violence against a bride in Bagha, suicide of a bride named Rahima Akhtar Remy (24) in Char Ghat, sexual abuse of a woman named Shamsunnahar in Bagha, and the mysterious death of student Sadiya Akhtar in Rabi. These incidents are distressing for everyone.
 
Shahana Parveen, Executive Director of LOFS, says that many incidents occur in Rajshahi that are not published or known based on reality. Published information about women and children's abuse in Rajshahi is disappointing.
 
In the Rajshahi region, for thorough investigation and responsible punishment of all incidents, LOFS demands strict measures against the perpetrators. She says that if the punishment of the offenders is not ensured, they will be encouraged gradually and the intensity of the crime will increase. LOFS emphasizes harsh punishment for offenders relative to the thorough investigation of all incidents of women and children's abuse.
