Oct 31, V7N- Mike Tyson, the former heavyweight champion and self-proclaimed "Baddest Man on the Planet," is gearing up for a return to the ring at age 58 against 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul on November 15 in Arlington, Texas. The fight, set to take place at the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium, has drawn criticism from notable figures in the boxing world, including British promoter Eddie Hearn, who called it "dangerous, irresponsible, and disrespectful to boxing." Hearn, who admires Tyson's legacy, expressed concern about Tyson's age and health, urging that he "should not be in a ring again."

Tyson, however, shrugged off the comments. "Well, that's Eddie's opinion," he replied simply when questioned. Despite his long absence from professional fighting—his last official bout was in 2005—Tyson expressed confidence, suggesting that even if he's at "10% of what I was, he [Paul] only has 10 fights. He couldn't match that."

While his return could lead to a significant payday, Tyson dismissed any notion that money was the driving force. "This money from this fight is not going to change my lifestyle any," he said. Instead, he views the bout as a personal test. Tyson, known for a tumultuous life marked by financial struggles and legal battles, insists he’s just focused on doing it for himself.

Despite a more reflective outlook on life, Tyson made clear that he doesn’t see himself as a "nice person." "I try to do the right thing, but a nice person I am not," he explained, adding that he isn’t motivated by pleasing others or making friends. With a 50-6 record that includes 44 knockouts, Tyson’s career made him one of the sport's most formidable heavyweights. In contrast, Paul, still early in his career, has a 9-1 record, adding an extra layer of intrigue as the boxing world prepares to witness one of its most controversial matchups in recent years.
