Lautaro Martinez scored his 100th Serie A goal as he led Inter Milan to a 4-0 thrashing of Lecce on Sunday, keeping their nine-point cushion at the top of the table.

The Argentine striker opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a clinical finish from a cross by Matteo Darmian. He doubled his tally in the 55th minute with a header from a corner by Marcelo Brozovic.

Martinez, who is the captain of Inter, celebrated his milestone with his teammates and dedicated his goals to his family. He said he was proud of his team’s performance and their consistency throughout the season.

Inter’s coach, Simone Inzaghi, rotated his squad after their midweek Champions League game, but his changes did not affect their dominance over Lecce, who are in the relegation zone.

Davide Frattesi scored Inter’s second goal in the 53rd minute with a low shot from the edge of the box, and Stefan De Vrij completed the rout in the 67th minute with a powerful header from another corner by Brozovic.

Inter have won all 10 of their games in 2024 and have kept 22 clean sheets in the league. They face a tough test next week when they host Atalanta, who are fourth in the table and have won four of their last five games.

In other Serie A action, AC Milan were held to a 1-1 draw by Atalanta, with Rafael Leao scoring a stunning goal for the hosts and Teun Koopmeiners equalizing from the penalty spot.

Juventus ended their winless run with a dramatic 1-0 victory over Frosinone, thanks to a stoppage-time goal by Daniele Rugani. The win also gave Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri a record-breaking 1,001 points in Serie A.
