Savar, Mar 24 (V7N)– Bangladesh cricket star Tamim Iqbal was rushed to the hospital after experiencing chest pain while playing a Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match at BKSP on Monday morning.
The Mohammedan Sporting Club opener fell ill during the game and was immediately taken to KPJ Specialized Hospital in Jirani, Savar, for initial treatment. Sources from Mohammedan revealed that arrangements were made to transfer him to Dhaka via helicopter, which had landed on the BKSP ground. However, the decision was reconsidered, and Tamim was instead shifted to Fazilatunnesa Hospital's ICU for immediate care.
DPL coordinator Sabbir Ahmed Rubel confirmed the development, stating, "A helicopter was brought in to take Tamim to Dhaka, but due to his condition, it was decided to admit him to a nearby hospital instead."
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has postponed its scheduled meeting for the day following Tamim's sudden health crisis. Further updates on his condition are awaited.
