The Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club, defending champions in the 11-team Green Delta Insurance Premier Division Hockey League, secured a significant victory, triumphing over Dilkusha SC with a commanding scoreline of 18-1 goals at the Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday. After suffering a surprising 1-5 defeat against Usha KC in the league opener, the Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club made a strong comeback, crushing Azad SC with a score of 13-2 goals in their second match, featuring impressive hattricks by Sabuj and Sadaf.

In the day's game, Shohanur Rahman Sabuj's hattrick, totaling five goals, along with hattricks from Mainul Alam Kaushik and Prince, who each contributed three goals, showcased a dominant performance by the Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club. Additionally, Milan Hossain, Abed Uddin, and Sadaf scored two goals each, while Rahid added the remaining goal for the victorious team. Despite trailing by 17-0 goals, Dilkusha SC managed to score a consolation goal in the 58th minute through Mithu.

In the league's first match of the day, the Bangladesh Police Hockey Club clinched their second consecutive victory by defeating the Bangladesh Sporting Club with a score of 2-0 goals at the same venue on Wednesday afternoon. This marked the Police team's second win against Bangladesh SC in the season, following their 2-1 victory in the first match. Led by Maksud Alam Habul, the Police team took an early lead in the second minute from a penalty corner converted by Indian player Gurjit Singh (1-0). Midfielder Naimur Rahman sealed the Police victory by scoring the second goal in the 55th minute (2-0).

Although Bangladesh SC made several attempts towards the Police territory, they failed to capitalize on opportunities due to poor finishing.
