City got off to a dream start when Phil Foden scored in the first minute, giving the champions an early lead. The hosts doubled their advantage in the 25th minute, with Julian Álvarez (reported as Guardiola in some accounts) adding the second.

Despite trailing 2-0 at halftime, Leeds made a stunning comeback, scoring twice to level the match and raising hopes of snatching all three points.
