''The ICC formally declared his suspension on January 16. In September 2023, Nasir, who is 32 years old, confessed to three charges brought against him by the International Criminal Court (ICC).''
Bangladeshi cricketer Nasir Hossain, known for his versatile skills in batting and bowling, has received a two-year prohibition from participating in any cricket-related events.
However, the authorities have granted him a suspension of six months for his admission of violating the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. The International Cricket Council (ICC) officially announced his ban on January 16. In September 2023, Nasir, aged 32, admitted to three allegations pressed against him by the ICC. These allegations encompassed his failure to reveal a present worth more than $750, specifically referring to a brand-new iPhone 12. The second accusation pertained to his inability to reveal all the complete information of an offer to participate in deceitful actions through the latest iPhone model, the iPhone 12. The third accusation claimed that he did not cooperate with the anti-corruption official's inquiry, which included failing to provide truthful and thorough details.
An experienced athlete, Nasir played for Bangladesh in 115 games across different types of matches from 2011 to 2018. In total, he scored 2695 runs and took 39 outs. Even though he took a break from international cricket, he continued to play in local matches for the Prime Bank Cricket Club in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. Nasir's ban will end on April 7, 2025, and if he meets the requirements for the suspended part of the punishment, he can play international cricket again.
