Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto emphasized that his team would not experiment during the five-match series against Zimbabwe, viewing it as a crucial preparation platform for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA.

As Bangladesh gears up for the T20 World Cup, scheduled from June 1-29, Shanto highlighted the significance of using these matches to address any shortcomings and technical issues.

"While the World Cup preparation will be in our mind, at the same time, we want to win the series, and that's our first goal," Shanto stated. He emphasized the importance of focusing on winning while gaining insights into their weaknesses to rectify mistakes.

Regarding the squad composition, Shanto mentioned that the selectors had rested Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman for the first three matches, but their inclusion would complete the World Cup squad. He indicated that aside from possible changes due to injury or other issues, the squad was unlikely to undergo significant alterations.

Highlighting the importance of the lower order in T20 cricket, Shanto expressed confidence in the team's depth, especially with the addition of Saifuddin after 18 months. He emphasized the role of the lower order in providing crucial runs and bolstering the team's batting lineup.

While acknowledging the freedom for lower-order batsmen to play their shots, Shanto emphasized that each player has a specific role within the team. He noted that while boundaries from the lower order are valuable, players must adhere to their assigned roles while contributing to the team's success.
