New England Revolution secured the final knockout round spot in the Leagues Cup on Tuesday by defeating Nashville on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

The Leagues Cup, a World Cup-style event between MLS and Liga MX teams, features three-team groups with two clubs advancing to the knockout stage.

Nashville needed a two-goal victory over New England to advance on goal difference, impacting Mazatlan's fate. US striker Bobby Wood scored early for the Revolution, while Nashville's Sam Surridge equalized in first-half stoppage time, ending a 386-minute scoring drought for his team.

The scoreless second half ensured New England's progression to a knockout match against New York City, and Mazatlan's advance to face DC United, even before the Revolution won 5-4 on penalties.

Nashville, the 2023 runner-up, was eliminated before the 32-team knockout phase.

Inter Miami will host a knockout opener against Toronto, with the winner facing either Sporting Kansas City or reigning MLS champion Columbus Crew in round two. Other matches include Tigres against Pachuca and New York City against New England.

Additional knockout matches include Cincinnati vs. Santos Laguna, Montreal vs. Philadelphia, Orlando City vs. Cruz Azul, and DC United vs. Mazatlan. Reigning Liga MX champion Club America will face Atlas, with the winner meeting either Portland or St. Louis. Other fixtures feature Houston vs. Toluca, Colorado vs. Juarez, Seattle vs. LA Galaxy, Pumas vs. Vancouver, LAFC vs. Austin, and San Jose vs. Necaxa.
