The Dallas Cowboys have signed wide receiver CeeDee Lamb to a record-breaking four-year contract extension worth $136 million, according to multiple reports. This deal includes a $38 million signing bonus, the largest ever for a wide receiver, and $100 million in guaranteed money, making it one of the most lucrative contracts for a non-quarterback in the NFL.

The extension, which averages $34 million per year, ranks just behind Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings in terms of value for non-quarterbacks. Lamb, 25, has proven to be a key player for the Cowboys, earning All-Pro first-team honors in 2023 when he set franchise records with 135 receptions for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy expressed relief at the deal's completion, emphasizing the importance of getting Lamb back into the fold while being mindful of not overworking him during his return. McCarthy acknowledged Lamb's work ethic, noting that he's the type of player who needs to be reined in rather than pushed.

Lamb had been absent from Cowboys training camp while negotiating the new deal. Under his rookie contract, he was set to play under a $17.99 million fifth-year option this season. With this new contract, Lamb is now secured as a cornerstone of the Cowboys' offense for the foreseeable future.

The Cowboys are also working on restructuring contracts for other key players, including star pass rusher Micah Parsons and quarterback Dak Prescott. The team has expressed its intent to finalize those deals as well.

Drafted 17th overall in 2020, Lamb has quickly become one of the NFL's top wide receivers, amassing 395 catches for 5,145 yards and 32 touchdowns in 66 games (61 starts) during his career with the Cowboys.
