DHAKA, Sept 9 V7N- Bangladesh allrounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz expressed the importance of continuing their recent success in the upcoming away series against India. Following their historic Test series win against Pakistan, Miraz highlighted the elevated expectations from fans. He emphasized that maintaining this momentum is crucial to meeting both the team's and the supporters' aspirations.
Miraz, who was pivotal in the series against Pakistan, recognized the upcoming series against India as a different kind of challenge. Bangladesh will be playing two Tests and three T20 Internationals starting on September 19, 2024, in Chennai. He acknowledged India's formidable record at home, where they haven't lost a Test series in over 4000 days, but remained optimistic given Bangladesh’s improved recent performance.
Bangladesh's last visit to India in 2019 ended in a disappointing series defeat, but Miraz believes this time will be different. He urged the team to focus on performing consistently, without worrying too much about the results, and to embrace the expectations as motivation.
The series will be a test for both teams, with Bangladesh looking to improve on their past performances and challenge India in their own backyard.
