Berlin, Germany Sept  21, V7N – The opening day of the Laver Cup concluded with Team Europe and Team World tied at 2-2 after a series of exciting matches on Friday.

Team World kicked off the competition with a notable victory from Francisco Cerundolo, who upset Norway's Casper Ruud with a score of 6-4, 6-4. Ranked No. 31 in the world, Cerundolo showcased his skills by hitting 16 winners and completing the match in 97 minutes, improving his head-to-head record against Ruud to 4-3.

In response, Team Europe's Stefanos Tsitsipas leveled the score with a convincing 6-1, 6-4 win over Australia's Thanasi Kokkinakis in just 81 minutes. Tsitsipas's performance was crucial in keeping Team Europe competitive.
Later in the day, Grigor Dimitrov of Team Europe edged out Chile's Alejandro Tabilo in a tightly contested match, winning 7-6(4), 7-6(2). However, Team World fought back in the doubles match, where Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton defeated the formidable pairing of Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev from Team Europe, finishing with a score of 7-6(5), 6-4. The American duo combined for eight aces and successfully saved 4 of 5 break points.
