Dhaka, Mar 04 (V7N) –Bangladesh Satellite-I may face temporary disruptions in broadcast for seven days, starting from Friday due to a possible solar outage.
These outages, also referred as solar satellite interference, occur when the sun passes directly behind satellites transmitting signals.
The Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday, mentioning the probable period of the outage.
On Friday, an eight-minute disruption may start at 9:53am followed by 10 minutes on Saturday at 9:52am, 12-minute disruption on Sunday at 9:51am, 13-minute disruption each on Monday and March 11 at 9:50am, 12-minute disruption on March 12 at 9:50am and 9-minute disruption on March 13 at 9:51am.
Audiences of televisions which operate through the satellite may witness disruption in the broadcast alongside telecommunication service receivers.
