Seoul, Dec 02 (V7N) — Samsung Electronics has officially unveiled its latest innovation, the Galaxy Z Trifold, marking a significant step in its strategy to maintain leadership in the rapidly expanding foldable smartphone market.
The device—Samsung’s first triple-folding smartphone—unfolds into a large 10-inch tablet-sized display, offering 25 percent more screen area than the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The Galaxy Z Trifold was introduced on Tuesday at a launch event in South Korea.
Samsung says the device features the largest battery among its flagship foldable series. Thanks to its superfast charging technology, the battery can reach 50 percent capacity in just 30 minutes.
Priced at approximately 270,000 Bangladeshi taka, the Galaxy Z Trifold targets a niche segment of tech-enthusiast consumers. Analysts note that due to its high price and complex production process, mass-market penetration may prove challenging.
The entire model is being manufactured in South Korea. Sales will begin in the local market on December 12, followed by releases in China, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates later this year. The device is also expected to debut in the United States early next year.
Samsung’s push toward multi-foldable technology comes at a time when Chinese brands are rapidly gaining ground in the global foldable market. With the Galaxy Z Trifold, Samsung aims to secure fresh competitive advantages and reinforce its dominance.
