Dhaka, Sep 23 (V7N) – In light of the ongoing dengue outbreak, the government has established 10 teams aimed at implementing, coordinating, and supervising mosquito eradication initiatives nationwide.

This decision was made during an emergency meeting chaired by Abu Hena Morshed Zaman, secretary of the Local Government Division (LGD).

Among the new teams, four will operate within the Dhaka South City Corporation, while three will focus on the Dhaka North City Corporation. Separate teams have been designated for Narayanganj, Gazipur, and Chittagong city corporations, with additional teams assigned to other major cities.

Additionally, specialized teams have been formed to target vulnerable municipalities, including Savar, Dohar, Tarabo, and Rupganj.

To streamline these efforts, a seven-member committee has been set up to gather information and oversee dengue prevention activities. This committee will be led by additional secretaries and joint secretary-level officers from the LGD.

These officials are tasked with visiting at least three dengue-affected areas daily. In close coordination with city corporation and municipal chief executive officers, they will monitor and supervise ongoing mosquito eradication campaigns to mitigate the spread of dengue.
