Tel Aviv, Oct 18 (V7N) – Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz has claimed that Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas, has been killed in an Israeli military operation. According to reports from the news agency Reuters, the operation took place in southern Gaza, and Israel has verified rumors of Sinwar’s death after an investigation.

Yahya Sinwar was considered one of the masterminds behind the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7. He had served nearly 22 years in Israeli prisons and was appointed as the head of Hamas in July 2024, following the death of former leader Ismail Haniya.

As of now, Hamas, the Palestinian militant organization, has not issued any official comment regarding the claim of Sinwar’s death.
