Oct 27, V7N- Israeli forces withdrew from the Kamal Adwan Hospital complex in northern Gaza on Saturday, a day after entering the site. The Gaza Health Ministry reported that dozens of male medical staff and some patients were detained, though 14, including the hospital director, were later released. The Israeli military stated that its operation in the area targeted Hamas positions, emphasizing that the high casualty numbers reported by local media didn’t align with the munitions used.
In a separate incident, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that at least 30 people were killed in Israeli strikes on homes in Beit Lahiya, though Gaza health authorities haven’t officially confirmed this. Israeli airstrikes in the northern towns of Gaza have killed approximately 800 people over the past three weeks, according to Gaza's health ministry, as Israel continues efforts to eliminate Hamas fighters in the region.
The situation in northern Gaza is critical, with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) describing it as “extremely dire” and calling for secure passage for those evacuating. Hospitals are struggling to operate, and medical personnel remain on site despite calls from Israeli forces to evacuate, fearing a collapse of essential medical care for patients still in the facility.
In the occupied West Bank, an Israeli raid in Tulkarm led to the death of a Hamas member reportedly involved in planning an imminent attack. Violence has intensified in the region since the start of the October 7 conflict, which has led to a significant toll on both sides.
