Oct 27, V7N- In Michigan, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are both courting key voter groups as Election Day approaches, including Arab American and Muslim communities concerned about U.S. support for Israel and union workers affected by the shift to electric vehicles in Detroit. Trump, who spoke in the Detroit suburb of Novi, highlighted a recent meeting with local imams, promising peace in the Middle East and support for auto workers. Imam Belal Alzuhairi joined Trump on stage, urging Muslims to support him, despite Trump’s prior immigration bans on Muslim-majority countries.

Meanwhile, former First Lady Michelle Obama joined Harris at a rally in Kalamazoo, emphasizing differences in character between Harris and Trump and criticizing Trump's record on women's health and the Affordable Care Act. During her speech, Harris was briefly interrupted by a protester calling for an end to the Gaza conflict, to which she responded that the war there must end.

Michigan’s early voting turnout is notable, with 19.5% of voters already casting ballots, mostly by mail. Polls show Harris with a narrow lead over Trump both nationally and in Michigan, underscoring the state's critical role in this tightly contested race.
