"Diplomacy has no prospects without strength," Zelensky said, underscoring the need for both military and diplomatic approaches to work together to prevent future conflicts.

Zelensky’s comments come as he continues urging the U.S. and NATO allies to provide Ukraine with more advanced weaponry, including long-range missiles, which Kyiv argues are essential for undermining Russian military infrastructure. He has also maintained that any peace negotiations with Russia must be based on what he describes as "honest" diplomacy, rejecting concessions that would compromise Ukraine's sovereignty.

Zelensky’s call for balanced efforts follows Donald Trump's recent victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the U.S. presidential election. Trump has repeatedly claimed he could end the war "in a day," though he has not provided specifics. Last week, Trump reportedly advised Russian President Vladimir Putin in a call to avoid escalating the conflict, though Ukrainian officials were not briefed on the conversation. 


The conflict, which began with Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, has resulted in thousands of casualties, widespread destruction, and the displacement of millions of Ukrainians.
