In response to the death of prominent Hamas figure Saleh al-Arouri in Beirut yesterday, Hassan Nasrallah accused Israel of carrying out the attack.

The head of Hezbollah says he sends Hamas his condolences, calling the death "flagrant Israeli aggression on Beirut's Dahiyeh [a suburb]".

Israel has denied any role in al-Arouri's assassination, but Hezbollah has previously forewarned Israel against attacking Lebanon.

Hassan Nasrallah, the head of Hezbollah, has started a speech in Lebanon.

Hezbollah is the strongest military force in Lebanon and a major supporter of both Hamas and Iran. Numerous organizations, including the US, UK, EU, Arab League, and a number of Arab countries, classify it as a terrorist organization.

Since months ago, Israel and the Iranian-backed militia have been exchanging gunfire across the border in reaction to the Gaza War.

The address by Nasrallah was originally supposed to take place on the fourth anniversary of Qasem Solemani, a senior Iranian general, being killed by a US air strike in Iraq. According to Iranian officials, a "terrorist attack" occurred earlier today at a memorial honoring his death.

Leading to more than 100 deaths in southern Iran.

However, given the passing of well-known Hamas politician Saleh al-Arouri yesterday, many are anticipating Nasrallah's response to the events in Beirut. He has previously promised to retaliate violently against any Israeli fatalities on Lebanese soil.
