Dhaka, Nov 30 (V7N) – A hospital in Kolkata's Manicktala area has announced it will no longer provide treatment to Bangladeshi patients, citing protests against alleged atrocities on minority Hindus in Bangladesh.

An official from JN Ray Hospital stated that the decision was prompted by acts of disrespect toward the Indian flag reportedly committed by Bangladeshi citizens.

"We have issued a notification stating that starting from today (Saturday) and until further notice, we will not admit Bangladeshi patients for treatment. This decision stems from the insults directed at India," hospital representative Subhranshu Bhakt told the news agency PTI on Friday.

The official urged other healthcare facilities in Kolkata to adopt similar actions as a form of protest against the reported mistreatment of minorities in Bangladesh.

“Observing the disrespect toward the Indian tricolour, we decided to stop treating Bangladeshi nationals. India has significantly contributed to their independence, yet we are facing anti-India sentiments. We hope other hospitals will join us in taking similar measures," Bhakt added.
