West Bank, Mar 07 (V7N) – Israel has rescued 10 Indian construction workers who were allegedly held captive for a month in a West Bank village, according to the Israeli Population and Immigration Authority.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and Justice Ministry conducted a joint raid to free the Indian nationals, who were reportedly taken away along with their passports.
Authorities confirmed that the workers have now been moved to a safe location, and their passports have been returned. Officials are currently verifying their remaining documents.
According to The Times of Israel, the Indian workers originally traveled to Israel for work but were lured into Palestine with the promise of higher wages. Reports suggest that others attempted to use their passports to enter Israel illegally.
The incident highlights the ongoing risks faced by migrant workers in the region, where labor exploitation and trafficking remain significant concerns.
