Washington, Mar 24 (V7N) – U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Saturday that he believes Lee Harvey Oswald was responsible for the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy. However, Trump also raised questions about whether Oswald acted alone. In an interview on Air Force One, Trump told Clay Travis, founder of sports website Outkick, “I do. And I've always held that, of course he was, was he helped?”
The Justice Department and other federal agencies have consistently concluded that Oswald was the lone assassin. Despite this, many Americans continue to believe in conspiracy theories surrounding Kennedy’s death. This week, Trump ordered the release of thousands of pages of digital documents related to the assassination, following through on his campaign promise to provide more transparency about the case.
Trump also ordered a plan for the release of records related to the 1968 assassinations of his brother Robert F. Kennedy and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.
