New York, Oct 5 (V7N) – Two men were killed in a shooting incident late Friday night in the South Jamaica neighborhood of Queens, New York City, after what police believe was a murder-suicide.

According to Eyewitness News, the shooting occurred around 11:45 p.m. on 116th Road in South Jamaica. Residents reported hearing gunfire and immediately called emergency services. Officers from the New York City Police Department (NYPD) responded to the scene within minutes.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two men—aged 37 and 41—lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to the head. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) pronounced the 37-year-old victim dead at the scene. The 41-year-old man was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where doctors later declared him dead.

Preliminary police investigations suggest that one of the men shot the other before turning the gun on himself. Detectives are currently working to determine the nature of their relationship and the possible motive behind the shooting.

No arrests have been made, and authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims pending notification of their families.

Police officers cordoned off the area overnight as forensic teams collected evidence and interviewed witnesses. The NYPD’s homicide unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
