Russia has claimed that six civilians were killed in Ukrainian airstrikes targeting Russian-controlled areas in southern and eastern Ukraine, with at least 10 others injured in Thursday's shelling. Andrey Aleksenko, a Russian official in the Kherson region, reported that two individuals lost their lives in a drone attack on a car, while another drone strike targeted a pedestrian who managed to escape. These incidents were detailed in a report by the British news agency Reuters.

According to Aleksenko, two members of a network repair crew engaged in restoring mobile communications were also killed in a separate attack, with another individual hospitalized in critical condition.

In addition, two people were killed and nine others wounded as a result of Ukrainian shelling in the Russian-controlled area of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine on Thursday, officials stated.

The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, now in its third year, has seen both sides denying accusations of targeting civilians. However, the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission reported in February that over 10,000 civilians have lost their lives and at least 20,000 have been injured as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

As tensions persist and violence escalates, the plight of civilians caught in the crossfire continues to draw international concern, highlighting the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
