In a dramatic escalation of hostilities, Russia announced the downing of 68 drones launched by Ukraine, with the majority intercepted in the southern regions of Krasnodar and Crimea over a span from Friday to Saturday. The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that 66 drones were neutralized in the Krasnodar region, with an additional two in Crimea.

Krasnodar regional governor Veniamin Kondratiev relayed in a telegram message on Sunday that Ukraine had made attempts to target oil refineries and critical infrastructure, yet no damage or casualties were reported in the incidents thus far.

Simultaneously, Ukraine reported a significant missile attack from Russia, resulting in damage to energy infrastructure and power plants across several areas. Ukraine has alleged a series of assaults on Russian refineries and oil storage facilities in recent months, exacerbating the already tense situation.

In retaliation, Moscow has launched multiple offensives on energy facilities within Ukraine, including the capital city of Kiev, leading to widespread production disruptions, widespread blackouts, and considerable fuel rationing difficulties. These assaults persist, further heightening tensions between the two nations.

Adding to the turmoil, Russian forces successfully seized control of Novobakhmutivka village in Ukraine's Donetsk region, as confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense. The village, situated near Ocheratein, has recently emerged as a focal point in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. Additionally, Russian forces repelled numerous Ukrainian counterattacks near the city of Chasiv Yar, marking yet another instance of intensified clashes between the two sides.
