The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has extended an invitation to the Bangladesh Awami League to observe the preparations and campaigns for the ongoing national elections in India.

Awami League Deputy Office Secretary Sayem Khan revealed this information through a press release on Wednesday.

The national elections in India are being conducted in seven phases across various provinces.

The ruling BJP has invited select foreign political parties to witness the election preparations and campaigns. Notably, the invitation was exclusively extended to the Awami League from Bangladesh.

This gesture underscores the significance that India places on the Awami League and Sheikh Hasina's leadership, considering them vital allies in South Asia.

The invitation letter urges the Awami League to send a representative to observe the BJP's election activities.

In response to this invitation, Awami League Information and Research Secretary and Member of Parliament Salim Mahmud have been nominated as the representative to visit India. The visit will span five days and conclude on May 5.

During the visit, the Awami League representative will engage in meetings with senior BJP leaders to gain insights into the election process.
