Makkah, June 16, 2024 — Today marks the 10th of Zilhaj, and millions of Hajj pilgrims will be performing the ritual of stoning the large Jamara in Mina. This significant act follows yesterday's historic day of Arafat, where pilgrims gathered to seek forgiveness and recite prayers. The Arab News reported these developments.

During the day of Arafat, the sermon was translated into 27 languages to accommodate the diverse group of pilgrims. The valley of Arafat resonated with millions of voices chanting "Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik, Labbaika La Sharika Laka Labbaik, Innal Hamda Wan Nimata Laka Wal Mulk, La Sharika Lak," which means "I am present, O Allah, I am present, you have no partner, all praise and blessings are yours alone, all kingdoms are yours."

After returning to Mina, pilgrims will engage in three main rituals on the 10th of Zilhaj: the symbolic stoning of the devil, the sacrifice of an animal to Allah, and the shaving of the head. These acts represent the rejection of evil and the submission to God's will.

Following the 10th of Zilhaj, pilgrims will continue the stoning ritual by throwing 21 stones at the three Jamarat (pillars representing Satan) over the next two days. They will then complete their pilgrimage by performing the Tawaf, a circumambulation of the Kaaba, and other final rites, thereby fulfilling all obligations of Hajj.

This year's Hajj has seen pilgrims from around the world come together in a powerful display of faith and unity, continuing a tradition that dates back centuries.
