Riyadh, June 17, 2024 — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) has distributed approximately 1,600 food baskets throughout Yemen in celebration of Eid-ul-Azha, benefiting over 11,000 people. This information was reported by Arab News, citing the Saudi Press Agency.

The distribution took place in various districts, including Al-Mawasit, Al-Mafer, and Ash Shamayaten, as well as Al-Hawtah in Lahij and Al-Gaidah in the Al-Mahrah governorate. This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to bolster food security in Yemen.

In addition to the food baskets, KSRelief launched a project on Sunday for distributing sacrificial meat in the Aden governorate. On the first day of Eid-ul-Azha, the meat from 300 sacrificial animals was distributed in Al-Mansoora, benefiting 2,800 individuals who are disabled, displaced, or suffering from various illnesses.

Overall, the project aims to distribute the meat from 2,300 animals to a total of 32,620 families in Aden, Marib, Hadramaut, Al-Mahrah, and Lahij. In a further gesture of goodwill, KSRelief also distributed 25 tons of dates to Kazakhstan as an Eid gift.

These humanitarian efforts by KSRelief reflect Saudi Arabia's commitment to providing aid and improving the livelihoods of vulnerable populations in Yemen and beyond during significant religious occasions.
