Kyiv, June 30 2024 — Russia has carried out extensive operations on the eastern front of Ukraine, resulting in at least 12 deaths, including four children, in a series of attacks on Saturday, June 29. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has expressed concerns that the death toll could rise, as reported by Al Jazeera.

A particularly devastating attack occurred in Vilnyansk, near Zaporizhia, where seven people, including two children, were killed, and 18 others were injured. Ukrainian authorities claim that the attacks targeted residential areas, despite the absence of military installations. The Zelenskiy administration reported that there were 13 attacks on residential areas within 24 hours in Donetsk, prompting the Ukrainian president to call for an acceleration in the supply of weapons from the West.

In response to Moscow's aggression, Kyiv has also carried out attacks. Five people, including two children, were killed in an attack on Russia's Kursk region.

The conflict, which began on February 24, 2022, when Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a military operation in Ukraine, has now entered its 856th day with no signs of resolution. Reports indicate numerous casualties on both sides, and the intensity of the conflict in eastern Ukraine continues to escalate.
