New Delhi, 06 July 2024 - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Russia on July 8 and 9, marking his first visit to the country in five years. The Times of India reported that Modi will attend the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit during this trip.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs of India, discussions will focus on the multifaceted relations between the two nations. Modi last visited Russia in 2019 to attend an economic event in Vladivostok. 

Following his Russia visit, Modi will travel to Austria, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country in 41 years.

The upcoming summit will be the 22nd annual meeting between India and Russia. The previous summit took place on December 6, 2021, in New Delhi, where Russian President Vladimir Putin was in attendance.
